SZN of love - Recap Valentines workshop

During the month of February I had a special valentines heart gem setting session where you could pick a heart shaped gem. You got to choose your bezel, size it around your heart shaped stone (carnelian or black onyx), stamp your choice of heart, moon, arrow, or lighting bolt and add initials to back plate, solder, use jewelers saw to cut out your shape, make it a ring or pendant, file, polish, and set your stone. Here was a little photo diary from one of sessions with the ladies at LV Plant Collective.

film is not dead

There is something I love so much about capturing photos on 35mm film vs. iphone. I’m not sure if it’s the old soul in me or the excitement about having to wait to see what that moment will capture in developing film. Probably both. Goals for 2023, capture more time on film. Here’s some of my faves from 2022.

Tintype Photography

This photoshoot is dedicated and inspired by a few of my close friends who recently lost their pups. My heart is with them all. They all expressed to me some things they wished they did more with their dogs and one that they all shared was capturing more moments and photographs together.

It’s wild to think Roman has been part of my life for almost ten years now, I can’t even imagine my world without. He is still the super happy, fun and healthy pup that he was when I first got him. Wanted to document him just like this. I’ve always been intrigued by tintype photography as it’s one of the oldest types of photograph processes dating back to the 1850’s. Having this memory now with Roman was definitely one for the books. One shot in time is all you get which makes it quite difficult with a pup. Grateful both our eyes were open and Roman with his signature one ear up!

The whole process and creating was so fun with Myron Hensel Photography. The studio space and whole experience was absolutely perfect! Thank you, Myron. If you find yourself DTLV, definitely stop by his studio located in Ferguson’s Downtown.

Fears|Passions. 2021.

Its been awhile since I came on here and shared a post.

I sometimes can’t believe how fast a year passes by. This year has been one of those, with non stop adventure years. Last I updated I just had launched my new collection, Slate. One week after I launched this line, I had a minor accident on my motorcycle and thought I was done riding forever. Thankfully I wasn’t injured, I just had some bruising and done a bit of damage to my Street Bob.

It took a little over a month to get my bike fixed and back on the road. During that time I had done a lot of thinking. Should I give up this passion because the accident and I know the danger it can bring? Or should I overcome this fear that grown, get back on, and learn how to confidently ride this machine.

I cannot even imagine my year if I chose a different road. My bike has brought so much joy in to my life, I can’t even put in words. The miles I’ve rode, the people i’ve met, the opportunities that have come my way, the freedom its brought, and places i’ve gone. Not to mention the fun! I would say the turning point for me was my ride to Durango, CO for In~Cahoots that changed my riding completely. I wouldn’t say I was one hundred percent ready to ride this ride, but I would 100 percent say this ride gave me the confidence that I needed to continue my journey in riding.

When I look back at where I was in April to where I am now, I can’t even believe it. I still say I’m a new rider, and when others I just meet say to me you would never know it I feel so grateful for this journey and all my riding friends that have mentored me along the way. I wouldn’t be as who I am as a rider without their teachings and patience riding beside me. I’m still learning new riding skills and practicing every day. It’s a never ending journey with this bike and I’m in it for the long run!

*Also very grateful for creative moto friends that capture moments like this.

Dream Casa Laguna

Spent Valentines weekend with my mom at this beautiful hotel in Laguna Beach, California called Casa Laguna. I think this was one of my favorite stays I ever had at a hotel. We were welcomed with a glass of fruit sangria at check in. After checking in, the host bought us around for a personal tour. Everything about this hotel was so dreamy. The gardens, the fountains in every corner, pool, ocean views, spa and sauna. Not to mention the private suite we were upgraded to stay in. It had it’s own gate to enter and a key that looked like the secrete garden key. I told my mom I want to make this getaway a yearly ritual. Can’t wait to get back .. Dream Casa Laguna <3
